The Kelowna City Concert Band existed as early as 1894, even before Kelowna was incorporated as a city. With brief interruptions during World War I and World War II, the band has operated continuously ever since.
Their membership is currently made up of 60 musicians from throughout the Central Okanagan, featuring members from all ages. The band plays at a variety of local functions including annual Remembrance Day ceremonies, Canada Day Folkfest celebrations, and Rutland May Days.
The band are a non-profit volunteer group of around 60 musicians who have been entertaining residents of the Kelowna area for well over 100 years. They are always looking for new members too, and new opportunities to play.
This concert will feature Christmas music old and new. Get in to the spirit of the season as there will even be opportunities to sing along.
