Open Mosque Days have become a great way of bridging the gap between Muslims and non-Muslims around the globe. In BC, for the first time, major Mosques have united to host a province-wide “Open Mosque Day” in the following cities:
Vancouver | Richmond | Burnaby | Surrey | Abbotsford | Victoria | Kamloops | Kelowna | Prince George
You are invited to find the closest participating Mosque near you (here in Kelowna it’s the Kelowna Islamic Center along Highway 33 in Rutland – see map below). Whether you have been to a Mosque before or not, this would be a great community building gathering over delicious snacks, friendly faces, and wonderful conversations. Volunteers will help you tour the Mosque – see displays of various themes surrounding Islam and Muslims. Organizer’s have also planned fun activities such as Henna tattooing and Hijab-tryouts for kids and women.
In a world with ever-growing stigma and confusion around Islam and Muslims, Mosque’s open their doors, minds and hearts to everyone, irrespective of their background to help build a stronger community.
The event is free of cost and registration is not required.
